Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

You should wear comfortable clothes that you can move freely in without being too baggy.  Your instructor needs to be able to see how your body is moving.  Consider the weather - the studio is located in a detached garage without climate control. We do recommend dressing in layers so you can remove a top layer after you're warmed up.  Gentlemen, please wear something tight fitting under your gym shorts.  Grippy socks are optional.

Please do not wear any clothing with zippers or buttons (these can damage the equipment), and remove all jewelry before your session. We also ask that you refrain from wearing heavy fragrance or perfume.

What form of payment is accepted?

While cash or check are preferred, credit card is also accepted with a 3.75% processing fee.  Following your initial session, payment is due before scheduling your next appointment, or you must keep a credit card on file, per our Client Agreement.

How early should I arrive?

On your first visit, please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time to complete the new client paperwork. If you download and complete the paperwork in advance (see link in footer of this page), either email to karenscottfitness@gmail.com in advance or bring it with you.  At subsequent sessions, there is no need to arrive in advance of your appointment time, but if you do arrive early, please be respectful of other clients as their session wraps up.

What if I'm running late?

If you're going to be late, please notify Karen so she's aware of your late arrival (she worries).  Unfortunately, we are unable to push back or extend your allotted time, so your appointment will be cut short if you're late.  Please make an effort to arrive on time.

Do you supply drinking water?

Please bring a water bottle to your session.  Drinking water is not provided at the studio.

Can I do Pilates if I'm pregnant?

Pilates is a safe form of exercise during pregnancy, but do get medical clearance from your doctor.  Modifications can be made throughout the pre-natal process to keep you comfortable and safe.
